Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia and Sandals Resorts International have announced a multi-year partnership beginning January 1, 2010. Customizable Martha Stewart Weddings will be available to all brides and grooms celebrating a destination wedding at any of the Luxury Included Sandals Resorts and Beaches Resorts across the Caribbean.

Sandals current agreement with wedding planner Preston Bailey ends this year and the Martha Stewart deal has been in the works for several months, according to Sandals CEO Adam Stewart.

This is the first time Martha Stewart is putting her name on a destination-wedding product.

"Martha Stewart herself was the one who did the first inspection of the hotel," said Adam Stewart. "She has a team that is so on the cutting edge of what brides want today. Every single detail that has anything to do with the weddings has been completely reinvented."

All Sandals weddings will carry the Martha Stewart Weddings brand, including Sandals' basic, free wedding package. Currently only wedding packages for which customers pay extra are branded with the Preston Bailey name.

Sandals and Martha Stewart will continue to sell extras ranging from place cards to private bonfires.

Adam Stewart said Sandals' investment in the new product is "massive." Kevin Froemming, president of Unique Vacations, Sandals' marketing and sales arm, said it was a multimillion-dollar investment.

"At Sandals Resorts, we have always been ahead of the curve with innovative offerings and partnerships that excite and inspire our guests. As pioneers of the WeddingMoons programme, and the Caribbean's leader in Destination Weddings for nearly three decades, this partnership is a natural fit for our company," said Gordon "Butch" Stewart, chairman and founder of Sandals Resorts International.

"With Martha Stewart Weddings magazine, Martha, along with Weddings editorial director Darcy Miller, has set the gold standard for dream weddings. Together, our partnership is the perfect match - for Sandals Resorts, for MSLO and for couples planning the most important day of their lives."

The deal is multi-faceted. Martha Stewart Weddings will provide wedding consultancy, and there is a financial arrangement for creative product as well as for co-branded merchandise.

Sandals did not release financial details of the deal.
